Tukkr Co-Founder awarded an Order of Australia

"The Order of Australia recognises exceptional Australians."

These words sit on a page of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet's website, explaining the significance of The Order of Australia Medal.

On the Queen’s Birthday public holiday in June this year, Tukkr Co-Founder, Sean Gordon was recognised as one of those exceptional Australians.

Sean was named on the Honours list published alongside 1200 fellow Australians. Among other contributions to education and the community, Sean also Founded SchoolAid a national youth mental health initiative established in 1999.

The key motivator for founding Tukkr was the creation of a for-profit business that would do two key things:

  1. Deliver a quality, convenient solution for schools and entities providing meals for groups.
  2. Provide a source of income for SchoolAid and also deliver a source of revenue to participating schools.

Special congratulations go to Sean on receiving the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the community through a range of organisations - as noted on the official citation - of which SchoolAid tops the list.

Many organisations across Australia receive Sean's leadership, support, philanthropy and guidance. We are proud our Tukkr Co-Founder has been acknowledged with this significant award.
